Mrs. Dorothy MacKenzie and Mrs. Daphne Tatlow. Their daughters also took part, and I am proud to say they are still my close friends to this day.
Service would start with the Procession, a hymn or two and then a break for Sunday School. Our teachers included Miss Maitland; Mrs. Stephens and of course, Mrs. MacKenzie, who taught the boys to whistle. Mrs. Una Long was the superintendent. I know there were more and I apologize for not remembering all the names.
Michael's Parish Hall
After class, we would head back to chapel and the morning would come to an end. When we grew older, we would take our Catechism class in the chapel after school in preparation for our Confirmation in the Cathedral.

My first recollection of the hall would take me back to about the age of four or five. The Cameron Hall was where the very youngest attended Sunday School. I distinctly remember singing Jesus Loves Me in a semi circle of my peers with the teacher. Balenciaga Giant 12 Silver Mini City We were near the back of what in those days seemed to be an enormous room. The end of the class was always marked by the thundering noise of the "big kids" coming down the stairs to race to their bikes for the ride home.
more than a few people have memories of the parish hall, for it was certainly a big part of the community of Kelowna. Having grown up here, I remember attending any manner of functions in the hall from Christmas pageants with my Sunday School class, to blood donor clinics, folk concerts, Brownies and Guides; meetings of all manner and of course, the coffee social after church, just to name a few.
The caretakers of the day lived in a suite in the north east corner of the main floor of the building. Mr. and Mrs. Bolten seemed to be quite on in years but most adults are to the younger set. I recall Mr. Bolten as having black hair laced with a bit of grey and Mrs. Bolten with grey hair. I could be wrong, but I suspect they were British. They were a very kindly couple, always willing to help us find an errant basketball or open the side door to let caterers into the kitchen, or soothe an upset child who had fallen.
As we grew older, we 'graduated' to Chapel upstairs. What a wonderful experience that was. We had our own Chapel, Lay Minister Mr. Saunders, a choir with proper choir stalls and proper pews for the rest of us. In those days, we would only be allowed in the Cathedral with our parents on special occasions, but we didn't feel the loss, as we were made to feel so special with our own "mini Church." Rev. Matthews would often visit, and he was a favourite of many of us.
all lined up waiting to go down the back stairs to the stage, peering over and seeing a full house and trying to pick out your parents in the dark. Being admonished to be quiet I imagine the 'shhhs' could be heard down below.
In our day, the hall way down the depth of the building was open to the auditorium below. It was fun for us to sneak up there and peek over the edge to see what was going on below. Imagine the excitement of the Angels in the Christmas pageant Guess Purses Red
At the age of six, I attended Brownies in the parish auditorium. I look fondly back on those days, to the women who led our group Guess Handbags Sale Macy's
