MSB is proud of the rich diversity of its members who range in age from 18 to 85. Band members represent business, trade and professional groups, students, homemakers and retired people. There are no audition requirements or dues.

returns to Middletown for its annual winter holiday concert, a gift to the city for its ongoing support, on Sunday, Dec. at South Congregational Church. The Middletown concert is followed by a special holiday reception to which the audience is invited. Early seating is recommended. All concerts are free and open to the public. This light composition captures youth and innocence through the eyes of a child as the audience imagines a holiday time of carefree days and magical star filled nights.

Members are expected to practice independently, attend weekly evening rehearsals and perform at all concerts.

The Middletown Symphonic Band was established in 1979 by Santo Fragilio, then Director of Music for Bottega Veneta Lauren Bag the Middletown, CT school system. The band maintains a commitment to preserve, promote and perform live concert band music in the tradition of the community bands heard and seen on town greens since the turn of the 19th century. MSB brings together novice and professional volunteer musicians who play for the enjoyment and challenge that a community band provides.
